This was a fun project for me, because the piece pretty much
designed itself once the concept was approved. Matt &
Justine, two good friends of mine, are serious numbers people.
Matt's a civil engineer and Justine is a high school math
teacher. They wanted something fun and unique, that reflected
their personalities. When they heard my idea of a complex
algebraic equation, representing all the factors that go into
the big decision to have a child, they were sold. I whipped
up a mock blackboard surface while they tweaked the equation's
validity to existing mathematical convention. They were printed,
as always, on my Epson Photo EX, to save printing costs. They
went over with a bang, except with Matt's mom, who didn't
understand what the whole thing meant.
